Oh my…..
Fantastic FOUR!!!

I downloaded the whole first arc (Issue #1-4). This new series is written by new comer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and beautifully drawn by Steve McNiven. One word. WOW!!!
Most of you wont really know about the big drama surrounding this series, which was initially planned to take place within the current Fantastic Four series. However, it also meant taking Mark Waid out of his current successful run of the same family team. Having read the first arc, I am not surprised that Quesada, Marvel EIC, was prepared to replaced Waid with Roberto.
The tale is one that is very down to earth: The famous family lost their wealth and the story tells how they cope with all that in a surprisingly realistic take. I like the part where Reed had to struggle with his sheer brilliant mind and humble himself to just find a 9-5 work like everyone else and how his son, Franklin thought ‘having a normal job’ was cool!
But the main draw is definitely the art! This man, Steve, bears a very strong resemblance in his art to Travis Charest (in his detail and realism) and to Tan Eng Huat (yes, our Malaysian international artist’s queer angle shots and facial lines). The quality is very very very good. The best part is that, Steve is NOT like Charest in terms of getting the book out on TIME!!!!!!!!!!
Three thumbs up!!!!!!!
Definitely a book I will buy when it comes out as a tradepaperback.

Read this too….. This new (yet again) Spider-man series is okay. It feels great to see my “Guilt” story line I had beared a bit of resemblance to what Millar has in mind. The scene where Peter rushed to Aunt May’s house nearing the end, was definitely a scene I had in my script.
Anyway….
Warm Strangers

I downloaded the whole album from www.suprnova.org last night and love every song on it (except probably the last taiwanese song)… I dunno, but I initially thought I might dislike the album since the samples I listened to were only so-so. But noooo…. it turns out that the samples were very very bad quality MP3s, which made the music sound…. ermmm… unpolish at best.
The actual songs had that same style to the first, Waking Hour, album but with a slight change in it. There is much more consistency in this one compared to the first. I really dont know why some people are critical over the songs. Heck, I really do think it is a good CD… and no, look at her… she is NOT pretty. She really looks more like a computer geek….. which is not far from the truth since she graduated and worked as a software engineer.
Well, maybe the part where she is the same age as me plays a small part. Yeah, support your peer group…. !!!!
Malacca here I come
Tomorrow, I will be going on a one day trip to Malacca since I will not be going back to Kuantan…. due to some crowded reasons…. hehehehheheh…. anyway, I have tons of things to do there…. if given the time of course. I have a side project concerning Malacca which I think will take some time (a year or so) before it will be done. Yes, it is a writing project.
Hey, I have completed quite a number of projects so far… so my track record is not thaaaaat bad.
Friend’s Message to me
on why I left PwC
So cute.
I got another SMS, yes I have been getting a few of them already, on why I left… the gist of it goes:
I still dont get it [as to] why you leave [the firm]? It’s very suprising to me…. I thought you all will stay until [achieving] senior [position] then leave.
The short version of my answer is:
I have already gotten what I wanted and not only that, seen a big potential on what I can do. Sounds cryptic? Not really. The research area I am proposing to do is something that is still new in the academic area, so strike while the iron is hot! Besides, I dont really want to be 30+ before doing my research… By then, I hope to be doing some other kind of research which is not academic in area…. hehehhe… but that would be revealing…. ;P
Anyway
…. enjoy your holidays ppl.
